Specialist lactation and early feeding support
You can self-refer directly to Yanchep Feeding Clinic. You do not need to be an existing Yanchep Midwives client and no GP referral is required to make an appointment.
If you are currently receiving care through Yanchep Midwives, we recommend discussing your feeding concerns with your midwife first. Where appropriate, your midwife can refer you into the Feeding Clinic so that your care is coordinated and unnecessary duplication of services is avoided.
Bulk-Billed Postnatal Feeding Appointment (birth-6 weeks)
40 minutes | No out-of-pocket cost for eligible Medicare card holders
A focused feeding appointment available during the first six weeks after birth.
Whether you are experiencing challenges with breastfeeding, expressing, mixed feeding, bottle feeding or formula feeding, this appointment is designed to help you understand what may be happening, answer your questions and provide practical guidance and a clear plan moving forward.
Follow-up feeding appointments during the first six weeks after birth can also be bulk billed to Medicare for eligible clients.
For more complex concerns, or if you would prefer a longer and more comprehensive appointment, a Private Lactation Consultation is also available.

Private Lactation Consultation
60 minutes | $170
Medicare rebate approximately $111 for eligible clients
A longer and more comprehensive lactation consultation for more complex or ongoing feeding concerns, or for anyone who would simply prefer more time to explore feeding in greater depth.
This consultation allows time to look at the bigger picture for both you and your baby, develop a more detailed feeding plan where needed, and explore your birth or early postnatal experience if this is affecting feeding, confidence or how you are feeling about your feeding experience.
Private Lactation Consultations can be booked from the early postnatal period and are also available beyond six weeks.

Lactation & Feeding Home Visiting Appointment
Up to 90 minutes | $300
Medicare rebate approximately $111 for eligible clients
A longer lactation and feeding consultation provided in your own home.
Home visits are available in Yanchep, Two Rocks, Eglinton, Alkimos, Carabooda, Jindalee and Butler.
Home visits outside these areas may also be available, with an additional travel fee depending on location. Please enquire before booking.
Home visits are offered subject to availability.
What We Can Help With
Feeding does not always fit neatly into one category. Support is available for breastfeeding, expressing, mixed feeding, bottle feeding and formula feeding, as well as when feeding simply is not going the way you expected.
Breastfeeding & Lactation
Painful feeding, attachment and positioning, nipple or breast pain, milk supply concerns.
Expressing & Mixed Feeding
Pumping, supplementation, mixed feeding and changing feeding plans.
Baby’s Feeding & Weight
Unsettled or prolonged feeds, feeding pattern concerns, slow weight gain or concerns about whether your baby is getting enough.
Bottle & Formula Feeding
Bottle feeding, formula feeding, feeding transitions and practical feeding plans.
Sometimes you may simply need an experienced clinician to look at what is happening, answer your questions and help you make sense of your options.
Specialist Lactation Expertise
Appointments are provided by Linda, an Endorsed Midwife, IBCLC and Mindset Coach, bringing together extensive midwifery experience, specialist lactation expertise and a highly individualised approach to feeding and early parenthood.
As both an Endorsed Midwife and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Linda is able to consider feeding within the wider context of your pregnancy, birth, postnatal recovery and your baby's wellbeing.
Where something falls outside the scope of lactation or midwifery care, appropriate referral or medical review can be recommended.
Not Sure Which Appointment to Choose?
If you are within the first six weeks after birth and are looking for focused feeding guidance, the Bulk-Billed Postnatal Feeding Appointment is usually the best place to start.
If you would prefer more time, your situation is more complex, or your baby is older than six weeks, choose the Private Lactation Consultation.
If you would prefer an appointment in your own home, a limited number of Home Lactation & Feeding Visits are also available.
